True to his word, Pastor digs in his heels and takes his investigation to the streets. We know the Who, What, Where, and When. Pastor’s about to fill in the Why and How. Who is “The Duke” and what is his connection to the Thrill-Seekers? The next time you come face to face with Pastor, he’ll bring those answers and he’s gonna bring The Pain, too!
I made a conscious decision to just show different parts of Pastor in this week’s strip, except for his face. I wanted the focus to be on the ordinary folks on the street, emphasize the difference between them and the wealthy, spoiled Thrill-Seekers, and finally to demonstrate how the people from “the toilet bowl” of the D’urville District that Ned, Charles, and Tuck disparaged will be integral in bringing about their downfall. They are laying the final pieces of the puzzle on the board and The Duke is the last piece. However, neither he, nor his connection to the Thrill-Seekers will be quite what you expect. As we slide into the second act, things are about to get very dangerous and sexy in the WORLD OF HURT! To commemorate the occasion, I’m thinking about changing the format a little for the next strip to give you a little more bang for your buck.
As always, thank you so much for your continued support. Also, let me know what you think. I’m always eager to hear your suggestions, thoughts, and constructive criticism on ways I can make the strip better.

Could it be “The Duke of New York” Issac Hayes?
You do such a nice job of drawing individual characters. They really have personality.
Guess Who-
I have a good muse with a lot of personality herself, so that helps…
Parker-
Would that make Pastor “Snake Plissken,” then?

Nice as always. I think its interesting that Pastor is in evry panel, but we never see his face. So we are not involved with his reaction, we are just gathering the facts along with him.
Just noticed I used its instead of it’s in my previous post. That’s for you Angry White Man.
The Pirate Musketeer-
No worries. We’ll just fix your comments in post-production.
This strip actually started out as a montage (cue Team America) with floating faces and vignettes, but I couldn’t get it to work properly. (Maybe I’ll post the rejected strip on Twitter or the Facebook fanclub or something…) Also, with the informants, I was trying to create a visual shorthand to imply reasons why they might know what they know. A co-worker would know Alicia’s basic schedule and who she hung out with, a bookie/numbers runner-type would have a mind for figures and things that didn’t belong in his neighborhood, while a teenage shoeshine boy would trade in local gossip and be enough of a horndog to associate the building with the bevy of beauties residing inside.

The World gets a little bit bigger and richer with every new face. Dig.
I can dig it.
Doug G.-
I love creating the side characters. I think it helps showcase the scope of Pastor’s influence and reach.
AWM-
Thanks for the Tweet shout-out, sir!

Hi uncle! Your comics are cool. I still have the one you gave me.
Griffin-
My favorite fan of ALL-TIME! Folks, watch out for young Griffin in the future. Now he’s an artist on the rise with serious, SERIOUS chops!!
