THE THRILL-SEEKERS 39 – “Misfire”

Welcome back and Happy New Year!

It was only in the midst of completing this strip that I realized that Pastor always loses control of the situation whenever he picks up a handgun.  I think that’s a carryover from the webcomic’s original title, MY HANDS ARE MY WEAPONS, and my own antipathy toward handguns.  It wasn’t intentional, but it makes for an interesting running gag and a pretty good cliffhanger to start the year.

  1. A'Omare says:

HAHAHA! clever clever running gag! too much emphasis is put on guns anyway. nothing like some good ole fashion fisticuffs. makes for better imagery anyway. although the pose with him and gun is tight.

  2. Doug G. says:

That last panel is, indeed, badass.

There aren’t many heroes who can still look cool even when their equipment is about to get them shot.

  3. Guess Who? says:

Uh-oh! I can’t wait to find out how Pastor gets out of this jam. (Pun intended.)

  4. Dwight says:

Jay this is a interesting pickle for Pastor, I guess now its time to prove that, “HIS HANDS ARE HIS WEAPONS.” ;)

  5. Jessica says:

Oh man, what a sweet cliffhanger!
I just switched to Comicpress because I really like how this site is set up. You have more of an exciting story in three frames than some comics do in a whole page.

    A’Omare-
My boss actually helped me figure out the fight choreography to come, so I hope the pay-off works.

    Doug G.-
If Ned finds about Pastor and his wife, his “equipment” really just might get him shot. :)

    Guess Who-
Hey, I’m the punster in the family.

    Dwight-
To quote one of my favorite wrestlers, “Here comes the pain.” Also, your Wendy and Lisa interview really saved me during my inking session this week. Thanks!

    Jessica-
Thanks! ComicPress is so easy that even I can keep it running…mostly.
