Actual discussion in our kitchen this afternoon: ”What would the sound effect be for a crushed trachea?”
I decided to quote a line from Ludacris’ song, “Throw Them Bows” as the title of this episode. However, I was considering using a line from another Atlanta rapper, specifcally the line from Yung Dro’s 2006 hit, “Shoulder Lean,” ”I take breath/I’m the opposite of Primatene Mist.” That always amused me for some reason.

LMBAO!!! oh gawd, that expression on dudes face when he tastes that elbow is too funny. i like the font of the word “Chlorch”. ok, let’s face forward and make it next wednesday…!
Nice!!! I Like that you are introducing some grey tone, kinda like Williamson use to throw in some zipatone. Very cool.
And that my friends, is how you do a double allioop twister with a half spin drop elbow strangling spine snapper. With, extra chest crushing clorch.
Any questions?
Not sure about his jiu-jitsu, but Pastor’s ground-and-pound looks strong.
LOL. Luv the concentration on Pastor’s face in the last panel. Guess the other guy is too shocked to help. That’s what “butightus” will do ta ya!
That is one badass expression on Pastor’s face in the last panel. It is truly awesome.
Nice!! I think you settled on a creative yet probably accurate sound description.
I like the victim’s F*word. Long and drawn out with all caps in the first panel. A single, lower case letter in the second panel. I felt his breath run out. Nice touch.
You’re conveying a great deal with the expressions in these guys’ faces (as Jessica has pointed out). That’s quality!!
How did you come to the conclusion, “Chlorch” was the sound of choice?
Lots of acting: coughing and choking in the studio that night hehehe
A’Omare-
“Taste the elbow” also would have worked as an alternate title. I kinda like that phrase.
Summey-
I figured it needed something else. I was looking at some “Secret Agent Corrigan” strips when I was inking this week’s episode, so I thought I’d slip that in.
Tracy-
When I can’t go for ultra-realistic fight scenes, my fallback position is to make it as painful looking as possible.
Doug G.-
That’s why I didn’t call him Isaiah “Kimbo” Hurt.
Jessica -
I was kinda pleased with how his expression came out, too. There’s a little bit of the taciturn Duke Togo aka “Golgo 13″ in Pastor, too, which is where Pastor’s game face comes from.

Coyote Trax-
In the early strips, I struggled a little getting a handle on Pastor, but I’ve been pretty pleased with some of his more recent depictions. This last panel was a particular highpoint for me. Thanks!
MellM-
Actually it was just an excuse to whip out the new fonts I bought over New Years.
Jay Potts-
You are truly wise and insightful, Jay Potts. No, I know who this is, so “Thanks,” baby!
MAS-
Thanks! But, really, you hit the nail on the head. I was sitting over the drawing board making hacking and choking sounds, then figuring out where to add or drop consonants. I sounded like I was coughing up a hairball.

Finally sat down and read the strip from the beginning-great work, I’m hooked! The storyline is slick and it takes me back to our younger days! Great job cuz!
I think CLORCH covers it pretty well. Dang, Pastor. Dang.
cwill75-
I’m glad you could check it out. I’ll text you later.
Our ritual of screening “Enter The Dragon” HAD to pay-off somewhere down the line.

Danny-
I’ve decided that Pastor’s fighting technique boils down to hitting the soft parts with the hard parts until the other guy stops moving.
