THE THRILL-SEEKERS 57 – Film Buff

THE THRILL-SEEKERS 57 – Film Buff

It’s always hard following up such a well-received strip, especially when the next week’s episode picks up on a considerably quieter moment.  Nonetheless, this is probably the last relatively quiet moment you’ll see until the end of The Thrill-Seekers.

On a couple housekeeping notes, please note that I added The Official World Of Hurt Online Store on the site.  I closed the CafePress store, so this is all merchandise that I have a direct hand in setting up, inspecting, and shipping.  Please spread the word.  I’ll be adding additional items in time, such as offers for commissions or original art, but I wanted to get it off the ground with the basics.

Finally, today is the birthday of my older brother, Phil.  He’s the one responsible/to blame for my lifelong love of comics.  He occasionally posts on here as “Ramon,” so “Happy Birthday, Ramon.”  I’m proud to be your brother!

He’ll be joining me this weekend in Philadelphia, PA for the East Coast Black Age Of Comics Convention.  If any of you all plan on being there, I look forward to seeing you.

  1. As you requested on Twitter, here is a comment to test if Wordpress is messed up. And cool comic, by the way. :-)

  2. RBynum says:

I was highly disappointed we didn’t find Pastor immortalized at the Great Blacks in Wax Museum in Baltimore. Maybe someday…

  3. Jay Potts says:

    Michael-
Thanks for your help, and thanks for the comment, too.

    RBynum-
I’m glad you and Ol’ Kentucky had a good trip. It certainly sounded like fun from a gastronomical perspective. Also, your comment made me think that a sequence set in a wax museum would be kinda neat, and a very B-movie thing to do. I’ll have to stick that one in the old idea file.

  5. Have you had any reactions to your work, that parallel those that were critical of the movies at the time?

    Brother into music/ recording?
    Happy Birthday Phil “Ramon”.

  6. Jay Kelley says:

Thanks Phil/Ramon for introducing Jay to comics. Otherwise we wouldn’t be getting such great strips now.

  7. Parker says:

    Two observations Jay:
    1) Charles looks like hell after he got knocked the f*** out.
    2) Pastor looks like such a bad ass in that wet suit.

Until Pastor gets a monkey sidekick and starts driving a big rig…Make Mine World of Hurt!

  8. Ramon says:

Thanks for the shout out my brother! And as always, quality stuff.

  9. A'Omare says:

wow, this is getting mo’ gritty….AND I LIKE IT!
