“The Black Fist” Now Available on iTunes!

The-Black-Fist-Album-Art

As I mentioned previously, C.E. Garcia, a professional musician who performed on the original motion picture soundtrack for Black Dynamite and now regularly tours as a member of The Black Dynamite Sound Orchestra, composed an original theme for WORLD OF HURT.  The song is now available on iTunes, but as I promised, you’d hear a sample of it right here at the home of The Internet’s #1 Blaxploitation Webcomic!

The Black Fist (Theme to WORLD OF HURT) {Sample}

Dude just KILLED it!  Those clanging church bells just sound like doom!  Ask not for whom the bell tolls.  It tolls for thee, muthafucka!  Also, my hat is off to the talented Alfredo E. Fratti and his magic flute.  I don’t have the musical vocabulary to express what he did, but never has a flute sounded so menacing.  It adds the perfect touch to a note-perfect song.

Now, please do Mr. Garcia and myself a favor and buy this bad boy from iTunes.  We got bills ta pay! ;)   Just search for “The Black Fist” or “C.E. Garcia” and it should pop right up.

We’ve Got A Winner!

After much anticipation, I am proud to announce that we have a winner for the world’s most poorly run trivia contest. But, before we announce the winner, let’s review the questions and answers.  I’ve taken the liberty of including links to the relevant strips, so we can all enjoy an easy trip down Memory Lane… (cue the flashback)

Question 1: Who or what was The Thrillseekers storyline named after?
Answer: Charles Bouchier’s yacht

Question 2: Who was the bad guy that got tossed out of a window by Pastor?
Answer: Duke, the pimp

Question 3: Who is the new female character introduced at the end of The Thrillseekers?
Answer: Vonetta Foster

Question 4: Who are the two detectives that cross paths with Pastor in the investigation into Alicia Patterson’s death?
Answer: Mike Steiner and Andy Haworth

Question 5: Which villian’s wife did Pastor hold a tent revival with?
Answer: Ned Belmont’s wife,  Caroline Belmont

I literally placed the names of all the entrants who supplied the correct answers into a hat.  My lovely wife pulled the winning name.  And the winner is…Daisy Wreath.

Congratulations, Daisy!  E-mail me a mailing address and I’ll drop ship your prize pack with much more haste than I announced the winners.

Although my hat is off to all the contestants, I have to give props to David Wildsmith who gets special recognition for sending his answers from farthest away.  David lives in Australia, and although the shipping costs would have been higher, I wouldn’t have minded, because I think it’s so damn cool to have readers (a reader?) in Australia.  WORLD OF HURT is international, baby.  I used this song before, because of it features a prominent sample from Willie Hutch’s “I Choose You” from the Blaxploitation classic, The Mack, but you can’t argue with a classic.  David, this one goes out to you:

A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT…

October 31st is fast approaching and we all know what that means: Halloween parties!  Lately, it seems like this holiday is gaining as much importance among adults as it has always had among kids.  It’s a time to let your id loose and express your creativity and interests by dressing up in fantastic or outlandish costumes.  However, I have a request for you.  Unless your hair can, or could, naturally do this:

angeladavis

…Or even this:

Gabe Kaplan

…then please,  PLEASE, PLEASE don’t show up at any Halloween parties dressed like this:

Don't be THAT guy

Please.

THE BIRTHDAY SONG

Today is my birthday, but in a departure from standard birthday protocol where I ask for a delightful assortment of presents to be showered upon me, I’m going to ask that you buy something nice for yourself.  Let’s see, what could you use…nay, NEED…in your lives that’s fun and inexpensive.

Let’s seeeeee, what could that be?

Hey, I know!  Howzabout a download of “The Black Fist,” the original theme song to The Internet’s #1 Blaxploitation Webcomic, composed by C.E. Garcia of The Black Dynamite Sound Orchestra.  Incidentally, that very song happens to be available exclusively on iTunes for the low, low price of 99 cents.

That’s what I call a win-win situation for everyone!
