Scott T & JR Carter- The Black Fist actually has a stronger thread of cynicism than The Thrill-Seekers, which was more of a straight-forward action piece. Looking back, I think it reflects the time in which I wrote/re-wrote it, prior to the elections and then during the emergence of the Tea Party, where lies, disinformation, and latent fears about Black men, or one in particular, were successfully employed to press a rather insidious agenda. What was disheartening was how readily so many people believe(d) them.

You had it down pat and summarized it much better than I could. One of the drawbacks of a weekly strip where I’m trying to throw out so many twists and turns is that some of the set-up can be forgotten or overlooked while it plays out. Maybe I should consider a summary in my commentary every week.
So, what was the artist error? Did you try and set it up to post at 6 am, but mistakenly scheduled it for 6 pm? Inquiring minds want to know. I also love the last panel, but I am really digging the gritted teeth look on Pastor in panel 2 and the running mascara in panel 1 and how her hand smudges it even more when she wipes her eyes. That was such a cool detail.

The violence of the last scene actually made me laugh (strangely)…not at all because it’s bad…more that seeing that it takes 4 guys to take Pastor down has an element of humour to it.
Hey Jay, I don’t think you need a summary. If I ever have a wrinkle in my understanding of the plot the previous episodes are there to review. I don’t think you need to do anymore work for the reader. My quandry last week, whilsty expertly explained by Doug G was more than cleared up in this weeks episode…I vote for: let the pictures do the talking
