First, I’d like to thank you all for your kind words last week. Marye meant a lot to us and your comments were wonderful solace during an emotional week.
There’s no good way to segue from that, except to say “thank you” again for being there for us with the Kickstarter campaign. In every way, great and small, you guys always come through. There’s been a flurry of activity as the campaign entered its last week, and as of this writing, we’re only a mere $100 from our fundraising goal. You all have been incredible with your contributions and your tireless efforts to spread the word. Absolutely incredible!

Damn.
Did not see that coming. The plot thickens.
P.S. Totally premature congratulations, man. I don’t think even that begging-for-a-jinx comment can stop the Kickstart now!
@Doug G-
I had originally planned on going in an entirely different direction, but changed it at the 11th hour, because it’s always a good time to remind people about who and what is at stake. However, Rashid’s pose and expression were a bear to pull off. Nonetheless, I think it came together pretty well.
By the way, I don’t think it’ll jinx it. I think it’s all over but the shouting.

Desparate. Haggard. Scared. Just how a guy that’s been caged up for a while by psychos with unclear, but clearly nefarious, plans would look. If that’s what you were going for, you nailed it.
I agree!! You nailed the look in the last panel, so the extra effort was worth it.
That pose at the end should’ve been impossible, getting a short knife to show perspective like that is a challenge. But it works, and the expression is great.
I’d forgotten that we should’ve been wondering about Rashid.
Dun dun da! …. Nice twist. I like how you did the silhouettes of the people in the first panel.
Definitely thought that was a woman screaming in the previous strip. This story is building into something great and you have done it over the last several weeks without showing the lead character.
Many writers today lack the guts to get away from the lead for this long as they build the story. I respect you for having the courage to do it right.
The Kickstarter is fully funded!
And this story rules!
Good week.
It’s borderline-scary looking back at Rashid’s calm, cool, dashiki-clad first appearance in “The Thrill Seekers” #48 and flipping straight to this strip. His fear can’t be contained by the fourth wall; heck, I’m not sure Sig’s going to be able to resist the beckoning of that trigger. Bring on next week!
