THE BLACK FIST 42 – Tossing The Place

THE BLACK FIST 42 – Tossing The Place

Welcome back!

Just to lighten up the mood a little, I wanted to post this shot of me with my editor, Truck Turner, working on this week’s strip:

The kiss was unexpected and unwelcome, so I’m thinking of filing a workplace harassment suit.

    That is the sweetest dog ever! Don’t file a complaint against him.

  2. Guess Who says:

    Do the kids remember phone booths?

  3. Mistah Pete says:

    I was going to ask about that room he’s holding a telephone in in the last panel. But I’ve read enough old comics to recognize Superman’s closet. Or is that a TARDIS?

  4. Jay Potts says:

    @Mistah Pete-

    Man, don’t make me feel older than I am!

    I can’t even express how happy I am to not only have the weekly world of hurt back, but to see a dog involved this time too!

  6. I like that he left the kitchen knife on the toilet. You MUST file the harrassment suit how else will he learn to not repeat that bad behavior and I think it would be more humane than a rolled up newpaper :)

  7. Mistah Pete says:

    @Jay — while it’s possible you look younger than you are, I can almost certainly guarantee I’m older than you. I can actually remember the era you draw.

  8. Dr Ennui says:

    @ Mistah Pete –

    Superman’s closet…love it.

  9. Edel says:

    Those 11×17 sheets I see in the picture, are they inked on bristol board? I’ve been testing some inking on regular laser printer 20lb 11×17 *premium* paper from office depot and they look great! I’m using Speedball super black ink.

  10. Jay Potts says:

    @Edel-
    They are 11X17 sheets, but they’re 16 lb, translucent, 100% cotton rag vellum. Staedtler sells them at 50 sheet/pad at around $20. It doesn’t bleed and holds the ink much better than the 11X17 copy paper. Tommy Lee Edwards does his inks on vellum. I saw his originals at HeroesCon one year and it was a revelation, because I didn’t have to worry about messing up my pencils in the inking stage. If I mess up, I just flip the vellum around or get a new sheet, but the pencils are preserved.
