THE BLACK FIST 43 – A Grim Discovery

THE BLACK FIST 43 – A Grim Discovery

Welcome back!

I kinda liked the staging in this strip, although I wasn’t completely happy with using so much exposition.

Oh, man, I love Pastor’s expression in Panel 2. He’s always so cool, it’s a treat to see him lose it for a second.

I’m curious about the word-balloons, but I expect you’ll have a payoff to it. He isn’t “thinking,” he’s talking, and I have to assume he’s talking to someone…

  2. Mistah Pete,
No he is like Hamlet giving long monlogues to the audience and himself :) . Who’d he be talking to and how? Does he have a car phone? I’d guess CB radio. It is the 70’s :) But I’ll let Jay explain the exposition, and why Pastor sits in his car and talks to himself while on a stake out. ;)

  3. Maybe do the exposition as a “voice-over” like in some of the detective movies?
Love the site, and even though it’s not about movies, it is a tribute to the blaxploitation movies of the 70s, so I’m gonna post a link to this site on my site, Big Bad Drive-In (www.bigbaddrivein.com)

  4. Guess Who says:

    Walkie talkies. Duh.

  5. Doug G says:

That’s a real shame when folks be throwin’ away a perfectly good white boy like that. Signed, Doug G, the perfectly good white boy.

  6. Doc Walter says:

Doug G – Seriously, they could have at least made an effort to recycle (Does anyone else think that comment reeks of Soylent Green?)

And Jay, is that a GTX badge I spy on Pastor’s grill?!
